SSDI uses the Social Security payment rules. Wednesday dates use the insured worker’s birthday. The 3rd rule applies to qualifying exceptions, including concurrent SSI. Your SSA notice is the final guide to your assigned group.

Why the January 3rd-rule date is in December
January 3, 2027 is Sunday and January 1 is a federal holiday, so this group is scheduled December 31, 2026. It normally pays the December 2026 Social Security benefit. Wednesday groups receive January deposits on January 13, 20 and 27.
SSDI is different from SSI
If you receive only SSI, use the SSI table. Receiving both generally means SSI on the adjusted 1st and Social Security on the adjusted 3rd; it does not mean selecting your own Wednesday group.
2027 COLA and your deposit
The announced 3.6% adjustment begins with benefits payable in January 2027. Your actual amount depends on your SSA calculation and deductions. Use the gross-benefit illustration with your current gross amount.
